Flowing water, is an even better conductor of vibrations and, because it's moving, stores a lot of energy.

Any meditation session is going to leave you feeling very relaxed, but a session beside a babbling brook or a gently rolling stream will not only relieve stress, it will invigorate you. That's due to the fresh energies at large in the water. You can actually absorb this energy and, although you may not realize it in the beginning, as you become proficient, you will notice that water makes a real difference.

Water is particularly good at conducting vibrations. If you have a park near you or perhaps your own river flowing nearby, a spot near the bank or the edge of a lake is a wonderful place to practice meditation.

Before beginning your meditation session, it is important to protect yourself from undesirable vibratory frequencies. Persons new to meditation are understandably on the lower vibratory frequencies, and that's where neophytes can get into trouble.

Any trouble is easily avoided by visualizing yourself encapsulated in a brilliant white light. (This will attract the attention of your higher powers as well as something you might not want to meet.) When you feel like you have the white light in place (you won't see it, but as you get better at it you can feel it) a simple prayer such as the Lord's Prayer or the 23rd Psalm or even just a request that you be protected from anything but good and truth will assure you of having a calm, productive session.
