Now
that this is written, I see that a more appropriate
title for this part would be “How We Interact
with Energies.” For
that is exactly what life is all about–– interacting
with the energies flowing around us. Remember I said
in a previous newsletter that we “live in a sea
of energy.” The
way we live our lives, our health, our mental capabilities,
our spiritual awareness (or lack thereof), our creativity
all stem from the energies surrounding us. Even the
friends we choose are a product of our involvement
with this vast energy ocean.
In the
"Circle of Life" in previous newsletters,
which are now archived on this web site,
the ethereal structure of our sea of
energy was defined, and explained. Now
we’re going
to take a look at how we can make this energy
work for us. The first step in that process is
to be certain that we are not
working against this life force.
If we
having nagging, low-grade health issues
keeping us feeling below par, if our
mental attitude is such that we can’t kick
start our day with a positive outlook, if our happiness
is non-existent, these are examples of how we are
affected when we are working against these energies. “Get
in the flow” is
an old expression everyone has heard, but it has
very real meaning. Just by going to bed at night
you could be putting yourself at a disadvantage with
the energy current.
Our lovely,
blue planet is surrounded by universal energies
that flow northward over its surface. Merely
by placing your bed so that the headboard
is at the north wall of the bedroom will
place you in a |
favorable position
all night long to better absorb this energy flow.
If the head of your bed is on the south wall
you are positioning yourself against the flow
night after night. It’s really too bad
that architectural colleges don’t know
about this to teach designers how to work with
these energies. Placing your bed properly is
sometimes very difficult to achieve depending
on the design and placement of your home’s
structure and its floor plan.
But if your bed
is not properly placed and it is possible to move
your bedroom furniture around, wouldn’t it
be interesting to do that and see if you feel a difference?
I’ve had my
bed to the north for so long, I can’t imagine
having it anywhere else. Our house is situated on
a NW by SE axis. The only way to have my bed north
is put it cater-cornered in the room (which I did
for a while) but my other half wanted it under the
window (we don’t use the headboard) so
I have it now on a NE heading and I haven’t
had any problem with that arrangement.
I did notice
a difference a few years ago when we spent time with
relatives on a trip and our bed was headed west.
We weren’t there long, but my
usual morning pep was down a couple of notches and
I felt a little sluggish the last couple of mornings
before we left. Since I am aware of this natural phenomenon
and would be sensitive to any fluctuations in my
energy levels I knew what the problem was and didn’t
write it off to “. . .maybe I’m catching
something.” If I’d had a severe reaction
to the placement of the bed, I would’ve countered
it with breathing exercises which are geared to raise
your energy level.
